I have a thing for twin beds. I go through periods where I seriously can't stop thinking about them. I pin them constantly on Pinterest. Their symmetry allows for fun patterns and cute rugs. Twin headboards can be more playful and you can pick a more ornate side table since there's only one. Do you want one lamp or two? Maybe a bench at the end of the bed? Patterned or simple bedding? Remember it's times two. So many options, my mind just jumps from one fun thing to the next. And yet, somehow, we have never, ever had twin beds. I bought these two in the hopes of designing a super cute little girls room but in the end, alas, no one wanted to sleep alone, so we had to push them together and make a king bed instead (sigh...)
Finally (!!!) at long last, my dreams have come true and we officially have a twin beds, in all their glory, for one of our guest rooms. After all, sometimes you have guests that don't necessarily want to share the same bed. I think, if you have a beach house, atleast one of your rooms should either have a bunk bed or twin beds, or if you're really awesome, maybe you'll have both!

I grew up with white wicker headboards in a room I shared with my sister, but I don't think they were nearly as pretty as these. These Seahorse headboards from Serena & Lily are fun and feminine and feel at home in a beach house.
And take a look at the Alexis side table from Gabby. I knew the moment I saw it, that when paired with the blue bedding it would lend a chinoiserie effect to the whole space. The middle section steps out a touch giving it great lines while the detailing on the drawers adds such beautiful texture and pattern. The brushed gold hardware and detailing on the drawers also adds to it's vintage appeal.

I've been spending a lot of time lately on Etsy sourcing vintage rugs and I have found some amazingly beautiful ones that are all one of a kind. This one has a soft yellow background with little hot pink details that bring a fun touch to the whole room. Another fun touch is the velvet tufted benches at the end of the bed, also from Gabby. They're actually two pieces of a round ottoman but I couldn't resist using them separately. Gabby seriously has some of the most unique accent pieces for a room!
